**About us**

The King's School Grantham is a selective school for boys in the centre of town. Our goal is to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable applicant who will make a positive contribution to the presentation of the School buildings and grounds to staff, students, parents and the wider public. During quiet hours and holidays the post holder will represent The King’s School and as such they will be expected to maintain the very highest standards of personal turnout, conduct and attention to detail.

The Estates Team Member role is a key post in respect of the security, safety and general well-being of The King’s School. During quiet hours and holidays the post holder will often be ‘the public face of The King’s School’ and as such they are expected to maintain the very highest standards of personal turnout, conduct and attention to detail. This post is full time; 37 hours per week, all year.

**Security**:
Lock/unlock school buildings and areas

Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks

Monitor fire safety equipment

Provide emergency access to the school site if needed

**Cleaning and Maintenance**:
Ensure that satisfactory levels of caretaking, cleanliness and hygiene are achieved and maintained through the whole of the premises.

Ensure that pathways and all other external hard surface areas are kept clean, free of litter and weeds and that they are gritted or salted when required during wintry conditions.

Undertake appropriate repairs e.g. minor plumbing, changing light bulbs, unblocking drains, repairing door furniture

To carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises is satisfactory

Operation of heating plant, cooling and lighting systems

Collect and assemble waste for collection

Undertake cleaning duties including graffiti removal, litter picking

Undertake emergency cleaning duties

Support the Estates Lead to coordinate deliveries to school

Refill and replace consumables e.g. soap & towels

Report faulty equipment and other maintenance requirements to appropriate person

Ensure lights and other equipment are switched off as appropriate.

To meet and brief contractors visiting or working on the site and to ensure that school security is maintained during working periods, particularly when the school is closed to students.

**Salary**: £22,737.00-£23,893.00 per year
