**Machine Shop Supervisor, Permanent position, Upto £40,000 - Dependent on experience**

**Hours of work - Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm, Fri 8am-1:30pm**

Leading a team of skilled Mechanical Engineers and semi-skilled Machine Operators, you are responsible for the delivery of "right first time" machined components to achieve the demand of your customers.
- Maintain and promote safe working practices and environment to achieve a "Safety First" culture
- Plan and organise production schedules in assessing project and resource requirements
- In partnership with the maintenance team, manage pro-active preventative maintenance schedules to ensure production availability targets are met.
- Achieve production targets within the department with regard to quality, customer service and running procedures
- Contribute to the daily planning meeting to achieve daily production targets and plan them into an effective working pattern for the department.
- Participate in the daily input and corrective action process in the departmental SQCDP & OEE measuring and improvement systems.
- Working with all manufacturing supervisors, support the development of the manufacturing capacity plan and schedules.
- Support and implement world class manufacturing best practices, reinforcing LEAN manufacturing principles at all levels.
- Identify hazards and propose solutions to the management team for redress
- Successfully integrate New Product Development into full manufacturing process
- Daily start of shift meeting occurs at the SQCPD boards

Supervise all subordinate staff covering motivation, morale and performance.

Time served Mechanical Engineer with a recognised apprenticeship qualification and minimum 5 years' experience
Proven Supervisory Experience

Need to have working knowledge of CNC machinery
Ability to influence and work efficiently with customers and colleagues of all levels
Demonstratable experience of increasing employee engagement in a manufacturing environment
Results driven
IOSH Safety Qualification
Pro-active, energetic, resilient and flexible
