The Sustainability Team manages the energy, carbon reduction and climate change functions of the organisation. The Council hosts the Reading Climate Change Partnership, which forms a crucial role in delivering the town’s response to the challenges of climatechange. The Climate Change Partnership Co-ordinator role plays a pivotal role in coordinating the business of the partnership. It helps to ensure the delivery against the Reading Climate Emergency Strategy including the communication of climate change to thepopulation of the borough.

**About the role**

You will support the chair(s) of the Reading Climate Change Partnership, working with external partners to bring forward projects and programmes in Reading that will help to deliver the strategic objectives of the Reading Climate Emergency Strategy.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Develop a network of organisations interested in participating in the Reading Climate Change Partnership and delivery of its strategy and action plans
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities and support the Partnership Treasurer with management of the budget.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the communications and engagement strategies of the Reading Climate Change Partnership.
- Coordinate Board meetings and sub-group meetings as necessary.
- Co-ordinate the monitoring of and reporting on Reading Climate Change Partnership Action Plan progress with theme leads and delivery partners

**About you**

The following experience is required for this role:

- Knowledge of sustainable development, including climate change and energy
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Comfortable coordinating groups or networks.
- Experience of working in one of more of the following: communication, energy, climate change, sustainability or environment
- Evidence of report writing, presenting and producing promotional materials for a range of audiences.
- Demonstrable track record of working with networks or organisations and presenting information publicly.
- Experience of managing or facilitating groups involving multi-agency contributions.
- Hybrid working
