**Main Purpose**
You will form part of the sourcing team supporting the strategic sourcing and contract management processes for specific categories for the business. You will support the development of the strategic approach and direction for specific categories and then deploy such category strategies with support as required.
You will ensure that all related category and subcategory areas are accurately and competitively tested and contracted. You will work with suppliers on an ongoing basis on contract management activities and you will support engagement with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and deliver the required contractual conditions.
This is also a development position for future growth within the team and therefore focus will also be on broadening experiences and knowledge in all areas of procurement.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Support the development of the categories and delivery of required business objectives.
- To liaise with all stakeholders to ensure that requirements are understood and that all related category data is accurate.
- Undertake strategic sourcing activities in line with business practice ensuring that these are undertaken with due regard to business policy and legal requirements.
- Proactively manage both internal and external stakeholders in terms of meetings and communications to ensure a high level of commitment is secured during the sourcing process and implementation, promoting the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the life of the contract.
- Work with the Sourcing Director / Category Managers to develop category supply strategies that are aimed at delivering key business objectives while satisfying the operational needs of stakeholders.
- Deliver contractual relationships on behalf of stakeholders that meet business objectives and operational requirements.
- Undertake supply market research to ensure that the required participants and products/ services are continually in scope and undertake financial analysis to ensure that best value is achieved at all times.
- Proactively manage the post-contractual environment to ensure that all terms and conditions are being applied and related benefits secured.
- Meet business contractual, savings and participation objectives are met on a continual basis. Where these are not being met, provide, and deliver a plan to meet said objectives.
- To manage risks and conflicts to derive benefits for both public and private customers.
- To assume responsibility for the execution of your categories in the overall workplan.
- Support as required the development and delivery of the procurement Strategy across the team.
- Define and manage key supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service, and quality, including technical input to negotiations on strategically significant contracts and negotiation and management of third party service providers.
- Work to achieve agreed annual departmental cost savings targets for the annual budget process.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- Good level proficiency in MS Office including Office 365.
- Some knowledge of ERP, CRM and MRP systems would be an advantage.
“Cloud” and other digital data storage systems.
- Good stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
- Ability to prioritise own workload within a complex environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Skills to manage multiple priorities and commitments with strong diary management skills.
- Ability to analyse, evaluate and recommend supplier quote returns
Ability to negotiate.
- Develop appreciation of the range of procurement categories
- Competent Project Manager
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Proactive and positive approach with a can-do attitude
- Highly organised with a thorough approach to work
- Integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
- Flexible and receptive to change.
**People Management**
This role does not have line management responsibilities but a positive team working outlook is required.
**Contacts, Relationships & Staff Interaction**
This role requires a large amount of positive and effective interaction at various levels with customers, suppliers, and management teams. Working closely with senior operations, sourcing and finance staff will be key to successful management of the role.
**Work Environment**
This role is a full time position covering Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm in our Burton-Upon-Trent (DE14) office but may require working occasional days at other Genmed sites which will be agreed in advance.
