It's not often the words ‘kitchen assistant’ and ‘social life’ go together, but this time they do. With this job, you will not work evenings and will not be under heavy pressure and stress.

You will work 20 hours a week as you join the established kitchen team at Badby Park in Daventry as part of the catering team, with responsibility for the provision of meals that meet the requirements of the residents and company, working within agreed budgetary guidelines.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the chefs to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- To ensure that food preparation meets all health and safety standards and Badby Park Ltd Policies and Procedures.
- Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and correct stock rotation systems are in place.
- To deal with all enquiries in such a way as to promote the goodwill of Badby Park Ltd
- To develop and maintain good relationships with the residents, relatives and staff through regular contact giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required
- To maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary
- To ensure that the heavy duty kitchen equipment, light equipment, work areas, other facilities and general surroundings are maintained and operate to the standards required by the Statutory, Local Authority and Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations and company’s policies.
- To assist Chefs, and to take responsibility of day to day cleaning tasks, washing up, general cleanliness of the kitchen on a daily basis.
- To ensure that safe methods of work are used at all times and that no unauthorized person cleans/operates certain specified equipment

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:

- Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
- Experience of working within a similar role
