- The Oxford Brookes Psychology team within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, is looking for an enthusiastic graduate to join our psychology demonstrator team on a part time basis (18.5 hours per week).-
**Your main responsibilities will be**:
- Where appropriate assist with the running of seminars, surgeries and other teaching support work determined by the module leader and line manager.
- Marking of research methods reports in collaboration with other demonstrators and the relevant module leader.
- Assisting with the preparation of original teaching materials for research methods courses under the direction of lecturing staff, e.g. presentations, weekly online assessments, revision materials, design of experiments used in class as the basis of coursework.
- Delivering teaching and learning activities, using appropriate materials and methods, in psychology practical classes.
- Offering one-to-one and small group support for students, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on all modules including dissertations, with an emphasis on supporting statistical analysis and experimental design.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and/or publications as appropriate and make presentations at a variety of meetings both in the University and externally.
- Provide administrative support to the research group. We are looking for a passionate graduate who is keen to be involved in teaching and interact with students.
**The minimum requirements for this post are**:
- Good degree in Psychology or a related area.
- Experience of a wide range of methodological techniques used in psychology.
- Good level of competence in statistics and data analysis.
- Ability to provide students with pastoral care.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Good team-working skills.
- Good IT skills.
