A leading independent distributor are seeking an experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join their team. Working for this face paced organisation who has many service centres and customers throughout UK and Ireland you will join a well established and reputablecompany who due to business success requires a forward thinking and dynamic individual to join the team.
**Your new role**
Home based, you will travel to and from various UK locations on an adhoc basis, meeting customers and colleagues at the companies various sites situated throughout the UK.
Reporting to the Group Credit Risk Manager and supported by a 30 strong CICMQ accredited Credit Control department, you will be tasked to ensure the credit worthiness of existing customers, in addition to assessing new customers and potential targets, are inline with the company credit insurance policy.
Your role and responsibilities will include:

- Establish relationships with customers by meeting key stakeholders, including business owners, on an ad-hoc basis to gain an understanding of their business
- Monitor and review customer credit limits and react to changes in the commercial and market environment
- Assess credit risk using various information sources
- Set appropriate credit limits in line with group policy
- Offer support and advice to commercial colleagues on appropriate levels of risk
- Provide guidance on credit risk in excess of insured credit limits
- Ensure transactions are in line with credit limits and credit risk appetite
- Research customer's financial positions by performing analysis of balance sheets and income statements

This role will require travel within the UK and some over night stays, however is predominantly home based.
The role would suit an individual who has proven experience within Credit Risk but whom posses a financial background and has the added ability to interpret and analyse company financial accounts, whilst also understanding the commercial needs of the business.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- To be successful in this role you will possess a proven track history of working in credit risk, credit analysis or financial analysis function
- Interpretation of company's financial accounts; Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of the balance between credit risk and reward
- Understanding the relative importance of profitability and liquidity
- Able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, at different levels
- Understand the different elements of the credit cycle
- Able to drive with ability travel to various locations to suit business requirements
- Self motivated with excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficient use of Excel and Word
