Part time, 10 hours weekend cover, working primarily on Saturdays and one (1) Sunday every month is mandatory.
£7,638.75 Per annum
This contract is for our UK&E (UK & Europe) Justice & Immigration business with the UK (United Kingdom) Home Office Immigration Enforcement department to manage the Gatwick Immigration Removal Centres (IRC). Under the Gatwick IRC (Immigration Removal Centre) contract, we manage and operate both the Brook House and Tinsley House IRC (Immigration Removal Centre), as well as providing Pre-Departure Accommodation services.
Here at Serco, we are looking for a Christian Minister to join our Chaplaincy Team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre.
The post holder will work across both are sites on a part time basis, it is essential that they are able to work 1 Sunday per month and the rest of the hours will ideally be worked on Saturdays.
As part of a vibrant Chaplaincy team, contribute, in such a way, as to provide a person-centred care approach, promoting a sense of hope and direction to residents and staff.
**Some of the key duties involved in this role are listed below**:
To provide pastoral care and seek to ensure spiritual welfare of residents and staff.
To provide faith advice within the establishment and be responsible for supporting the establishment in ensuring faith groups observe their religious holy days and festivals.
To acquire and distribute appropriate religious literature, supplies, and materials.
To facilitate faith specific services.
To attend and provide meaningful input into chaplaincy specific meetings and forums.
To work closely with Security and Safer Custody to ensure issues such as Suicide and Self-Harm and Violence Reduction are delivered in line with the DSO’s.
To contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings including but not limited to Safer Custody, Security and Wing forum.
To ensure that chaplaincy facilities and equipment are maintained to the required standard.
**What you need to do the job**:
This is an opportunity for a Christian Minister who has the appropriate experience in the delivery of religious services of own faith, ideally in a custodial environment.
They should also have a proven high-level of professionalism and competence in religious service delivery to bring to the role.
They will of course need to demonstrate that they have proven experience and skills in pastoral and spiritual leadership.
Similarly, they must have a working knowledge of other faiths represented within the centre to enable them to work in a multi faith environment.
The successful postholder must meet the specified minimum faith eligibility requirement of their faith tradition.
