- Jersey's Secure Children's Home looks after children and young people on Secure Accommodation Orders (Welfare) and on Youth Detention Orders (Justice).
- As a Shift Leader of the Secure Children's Home, you will assist the Registered Manager in delivering the home’s statement of purpose and help ensure that each child and young person is provided with a safe, secure and caring home environment. You will share responsibility for the daily provision of the home for young people, inclusive of the staffing, resourcing and budgetary accountabilities required of an effective specialist service.
- You will be a resilient practitioner with a strong commitment to working therapeutically and restoratively with children and young people. Being highly motivated and conscientious, you will exhibit the capacity for independent decision making and risk assessment, often while under considerable pressure and whilst directing the work of residential childcare staff.
- You will have previous supervisory experience and possess a relevant level 3 qualification or demonstrate a willingness to work towards it.
- Applications from a diverse background are welcomed. Support is provided over a 24-hour period and shift work to include waking night, weekend and Bank Holiday contribution is part of the role of a staff member.
