Groom/rider Ref 1189

Full Time experienced competition groom required for small family eventing yard competing at a high level both home and abroad. The yard is located close to Cambridge with easy access from the A14. 4 days a week would be considered with more days required during holidays.

Car driver essential and lorry driver would be a great advantage.

The Position:
- Working alongside other competition grooms providing first class care for 9 event horses
- All yard duties
- Preparing horses for competition -plaiting, clipping, trimming, mane/tail pulling etc to exceptional standard.
- Exercising fit event horses - hacking and warming up for rider
- Preparing horses and lorry for travel
- Grooming at events - tacking up, studding up, washing off and cooling off
- being highly organised and efficient
- Keeping yard, tack room etc in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times

The Person:
- Reliable, punctual with a really good work ethic
- A good team player with an easy to get along with personality
- A good confident rider who is happy to hack competition horses
- Must have excellent turn out skills-clipping, plaiting etc
- A lorry driver with HGV would be ideal but not a deal breaker.
- Car driver essential
- Experience with eventers would be preferred
