**Job Summary**:
Working under the supervision of the Asylum Seeker Healthcare Practitioners/Service Manager and strictly by specific NNPC Ltd guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Asylum Seeker Health Care Team in the provision and delivery of patient-related administrative tasks and health assessments. This may be within contingency hotels and dispersal accommodation. We are looking for an experienced HCA who can work independently but with the support and under the supervision of clinical colleagues as needed.

Situated in the heart of the vibrant city of Norwich we are within easy reach of the broads and the beautiful Norfolk Coast. The Inclusion Health Hub the base of the Vulnerable Adults service is in Central Norwich

**Main Duties and responsibilities**:

- Assist in visiting contingency hotels and dispersal accommodation to undertake the initial health assessments
- Assist with Venepuncture when required. This may include at the inclusion health hub, or outreach at contingency hotels.
- Performing. BPs, weights, ECG and other tests as required
- Ensuring equipment is stored safely and available for collection when required.
- Vaccinations and immunisations after appropriate training
- Chaperoning duties.
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted, supporting asylum seekers to access their registered GP practice and attend appointments.
- Undertake Asylum seeker health assessments and ensure system one records are completed and directly communicate to the patient's registered GP practice where needed through agreed processes.
- Support the health care professionals with triaging of those accessing the Asylum Seeker Health Care team and support the access to health care/primary care for asylum seekers under the caseload.
- Identify where there is a complex need and follow agreed process to escalate to health professionals
- Ensure any rooms are well stocked, clean and tidy at the end of the shift./ equipment stock in outreach bags is maintained

**General Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that appropriate quality standards and processes are adhered to in the delivery of work and develop and update these as necessary.
- Actively input into the development of new and existing services and resources.
- Represent and promote the ~Inclusion health hub/ North Norfolk Primary Care and our partners and services, at relevant forums and meetings actively and positively.
- Represent and promote the interests of patients to maintain awareness of their needs amongst those planning, determining and implementing relevant services.
- Build and maintain effective networks for professional development and to develop positive partnership working opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of primary care and the wider healthcare system.
- To undertake training and professional development opportunities, develop relevant specialist knowledge and expertise, and share this with colleagues.
- Maintain the organisation as a safe and supportive place for patients and staff.
