Premier Housewares Ltd is a leading importer of interior accessories, furniture, and housewares in the UK, supplying to both buying groups and independent retailers.
**Job description**
Reporting to the Creative Manager, the Junior Photographer (JP) ensures that all the company’s photography is managed and documented accordingly. Along with this the Junior Photographer will also assist the photography team on basic product shooting. Working in a fast-paced environment our JP understands that the customer is at the heart of everything we do, they are creative and have a commercial photography eye. A confident communicator, they are happy to manage their own workload to deliver the brand vision and content across all aspects of the business.
**Core Responsibilities**
**Photography Department**
- Reporting to the Creative Manager, you will manage and maintain all the Premier photography admin.
- Ordering products that are new in stock, have design changes, need additional images.
- Admin for stock management including photography bins, transferring to showroom etc.
- Support Visual team in providing new stock for showrooms as and when they require. Ensure all product information is passed to Showroom Assistant.
- Manage your time through effective planning, organisation, and communication.
- Asses, evaluate and improve photography processes on an ongoing basis.
- Researching the market to stay in tune with photography trends, as well as finding new approaches and ideas to promote the company’s varied product ranges.
- Ensure all equipment is well looked after, maintained, and updated regularly.
**Image Management**
- Manage the picture database for Intranet; factory shots, products shots (white background), lifestyle/editorial shots and samples.
- Manage and prioritise workload for inhouse photography team.
- Upload unedited images, approve images, delete duplicates, download images, and distribute to database web folders.
Product Photography and Image Editing
- Shoot white background pictures of stock, samples, design changes.
- Create artwork as and when required for our customers.
- Supporting the design team by providing images for packaging.
- Image retouch and correction in Photoshop for product shots, lifestyles and editorials.
- Image coding - lifestyles to appear on item code search.
**Key Characteristics**
- Strong creative flare with impeccable eye for detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build successful relationships with others.
- Happy to work to own initiative, conceive ideas and translate those into actions. Highly organised with an analytical approach to problem solving with a strong can-do attitude.
- Commercial photography experience preferably within interiors however similar industries may be considered.
- Essential IT skills include Photoshop, Microsoft Office (excel), image managements databases.
- Physically fit, need to be able to lift and move furniture (with another person, usually another photography team member).
**Job Types**: 6 month temporary contract, may be extended
