Haywards Heath, United Kingdom Sightsavers Full time

Sightsavers is looking for an enthusiastic Archivist to manage an extensive library of content at an exciting time for Sightsavers, having transitioned to a new asset management platform.

**Contract**: 3-month Fixed Term Contract

**Hours**: Full time/part time/job share will be considered. Some flexibility around hours worked.

**Responsibilities**

Sightsavers is looking for a highly organised and collaborative Archivist to manage our vast library of content on a short-term basis, with particular focus on uploading the backlog of content that has developed as we changed our asset management platform to Asset Bank.

You will work closely with content producers and story collectors to add backlog and new content as well as maintaining high tagging and ethical standards to ensure all available content is suitable for external use.

As Junior Archivist, you will work closely with the stories team, supporting them to log and prepare their content before upload, and also with the content producers, helping to source content and to upload finished comms content to the system.

**Location and hours worked**

This role can be completed remotely but due to the size of documents to be uploaded, a stable and high bandwidth internet connection is required. As this is available at our Haywards Heath office, the role may benefit from hybrid working.

We welcome some flexibility around hours worked but as this is a collaborative role, some hours will need to coincide with fellow team members.

**Skills and Experience**:
The Archivist role would suit someone who is extremely organised, has the ability to manage workloads, is proactive and self-motivated and demonstrates excellent attention to detail and an interest in photography, storytelling and International Development.

**Essential** **criteria**
- Experience of organising a wide array of assets and associated information, with accuracy and attention to detail and using a structured approach
- Good analytics and reporting skills
- Knowledge and understanding of digital file formats (image, video, etc) and media usage rights terminology
- Ability to identify the qualities of good images and stories

**Desirable** **(non-essential)** **criteria**
- Knowledge of Asset bank highly desirable, but not essential
- Understanding of digital image asset workflow and processes
- Understanding of consent processes for image use
- Solid knowledge of GDPR
- Awareness of content ethics, in the context of international development

**Benefits**

Sightsavers offers some fantastic benefits. Our comprehensive benefits package includes generous annual leave allowance, pension, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme, discounted gym memberships and wellness discounts. If you choose to work in or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London.

**Next Steps**:
Closing date - Monday 28 August

We anticipate that remote interviews will take place in late September and the evaluation process will include a remote video interview via Microsoft Teams.
