Our Energy Consulting Services team is geared towards, providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy network, thermal generation, renewable generation, and storage solutions. We are looking for an experienced Thermal energy technical expert, who is passionate about the Energy Transition. You would join our UK Energy Consulting Services team, based at one of our Germany, UK or Ireland offices. These include (inter alia): London, Dublin, Berlin, Cork, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Edinburgh.

Our fast-growing Energy Consulting Services team is part of our global network of c.1,200 Energy and Power professionals who work collaboratively to help our clients address the challenges and take forward the opportunities in the Energy Transition.

We provide strategic investment and development services and work with leading international energy companies (power generation, energy networks, oil and gas, transmission & distribution), large energy consumers (IT, Aviation, Transport, Industrial & Manufacturing), and government/ public sector. **We are currently looking to hire a Principal Consultant within Thermal Power and Energy.**

**Primary responsibilities**
- You would work collaboratively (from the UK) with the thermal energy and wider energy consulting services teams in the UK, Ireland and globally to provide technical leadership on thermal energy projects. These includes modern open and combined cycled gas generation technologies, decommissioning, retrofitting, or repurposing old coal and oil generation technologies, combined heat and power technologies,
- waste heat recovery technologies, thermal energy storage technologies, as well as evolving clean thermal energy technologies such as hydrogen, low carbon fuel or bio-fuel conversion. You would work with Jacobs’ energy and power: utilities, energy producers large energy user and public sector clients.
- Typical tasks would include:

- Delivering technically excellent power consultancy and engineering services covering a range of heat and power generation, heat recovery and storage technologies.
- Managing or undertaking technical lead / practice review duties on projects delivering on cost, on time and resulting in client satisfaction.
- Collaborating with our management team and supporting business development to help identify emerging opportunities with clients.
- Leading on the support of bid preparation and assisting with submittals as required, through supporting sales, operations and market solutions in the pursuit and delivery of financially successful projects.
- Helping to create a broader pipeline for the Jacobs Power and Energy business and associated services.
- Actively engaging with clients across power and energy, enhancing our reputation through strong service delivery and ensuring Jacobs services are actively sought after for technical expertise.
- Representing Jacobs at key though leadership events.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships within Jacobs and in industry.
- Being engaged in the Jacobs culture of caring, safety culture and promote safety in all aspects of project delivery.
- Develop and nurture thermal energy and low carbon power generation skills within Jacobs.
- Extend skills and experience through working on a wide range of Energy Transition projects (e.g. new technologies, hydrogen, low carbon and bio fuels, CCUS and Net Zero hubs) as and when required
