We are looking for a motivated Digital Forensics Intern to join our prestigious Digital Forensics and Intelligence Services (DFIS) team on a fixed-term basis.

The CMA is the UK’s world-leading government body established to make sure competition works in consumers’ favour and businesses treat their customers fairly. Working as part of our wider Data, Technology and Analysis Unit, the Digital Forensics and Intelligence Services team supports investigations and projects carried out by the CMA. They use their technical expertise to facilitate the forensic collection, investigation and analysis of digital material, conducting eDiscovery processes to normalise data and to support Internet Intelligence and Investigations.

As a member of the DFIS team, you will shadow/deliver a proactive and comprehensive investigative service, which will require you to undertake a variety of digital forensic responsibilities, whilst gaining the opportunity to work from the CMA’s dedicated Internet Investigation Laboratory. You will forensically analyse data collected from seized media (computers, laptops, mobiles, portable media etc.) and from internet and cloud-based sources, using industry leading software/tools to support this process in a professional and ethical manner. Additionally, you will also undertake some administrative tasks to support colleagues in their work both on and off site.

You will be equipped with excellent technology tools and services that facilitate collaboration regardless of your location. Our modern, professional workplaces across the UK provide an exceptional working environment. Furthermore, we proactively promote mental and physical well-being through a diverse range of well-being initiatives, including an employee assistance programme and a supportive network of mental health first aiders.
