Painter

To undertake high quality repair, maintenance and new installation works to a variety of properties, including tenant’s homes, whilst maintaining high levels of customer care and safety awareness.

**Specific Accountabilities**
- The post holder shall need to be sufficiently competent to carry out a wide range of painting and decorating (P&D) works including domestic dwellings, communal areas, Sheltered Housing Schemes.
- All craft post holders are required to undertake a range of multi skilling, in order to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The position of ‘painter and decorator’ will also be regularly required to undertake;
- _Plumbing - _remove radiators
- _Plaster patching _- patching to areas of work and making good where required to accept decoration
- Carpentry - remove/re-fix ironmongery, repairs to skirtings, architraves, mouldings, doors etc.
- To effectively communicate with customers, line mangers and Council officers, to ensure all works, including emergencies, are prioritised correctly, appointments are maintained and documentation and certification is accurately completed and submitted within required timescales.
- The post holder must be able to complete all works activities, as defined within their appropriate skill band, with reasonable skill and care, to ensure high levels of customer care is maintained, contractual performance targets are met and operational efficiency is maximised.
- To be able to work effectively as part of a team or on their own, using their own initiative to visit properties prior to commencement, order materials and plant appropriate to the work required.
