General Operative

This is an exciting position for someone who will be reliable, active, a self-starter and able to use own initiative.

The role is varied and flexible and could be up to 40 hours per week or as few as 24 hours per week - there is flexibility for the right person.

It is for a 'Person Friday' - someone who is competent at multi-tasking, has several skills and can deliver general maintenance tasks to a good standard.

A real team player, their duties will include:
General grounds maintenance for a very busy cafe including moving, bins, bird-feeders, etc.

Small landscaping and gardening tasks.

General maintenance of the facilities including painting and minor repairs including of the replica steam train.

Some kitchen duties to cover for illness and holidays to include occasional pot wash, regular cleaning of grease trap, clearance of boxes and other waste to the dustbins, maintenance of bin and other outdoor areas in hygienic condition.

The majority of work will be outdoors including during wet and cold periods though there will be occasions when indoor work may be necessary too.

This position will allow the individual to have input and shape the role to best suit the business and have a genuine input into tasks and how they are delivered.
