Overview / Responsibilities:
Position - EHV Cabling Foreman

Projects - Multiple

Location - UK based

Duration - Permanent

Start - 20th February- To assist in all aspects of Cable Installation & civils works including but not limited to; supervision of teams, groundworks, excavation and duct installation, cable installation/removal, environmental mitigation, fencing, site set-up, signage, CDM demarcation, CSE, joint bays, fibre pits, link boxes, earthing, cable pulling, RDX and assisting overhead line teams were required

- Supervision and coordination of plant and general civil operations for individual gangs.

- To execute all activities safely and efficiently to agreed work plans, safety management system requirements and best working
- Read, understand, and implement all applicable plans, procedures and work instructions for the project, ensuring always, that the project work is undertaken safely and to a high standard
- Complete all work scopes in accordance with the applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
- Delivering daily briefs / toolbox talks as and when required
- Reporting daily to Site Management for progress against programme and any delays or issues
- Assisting with development of site based lookahead programmes
- Maintain detailed site diaries / records for each day’s work and submit weekly to Site Management
- Issue Permits to work (i.e., Permit to Dig, Load, Hot Works, Confined Space etc.) as required
- Supervise subcontractor activities when required
- Undertake any health and safety training as required
- Provide support to the Site Supervisor in the deployment of their duties
- Raise applicable permit to work in order to complete the work scope in a controlled and safe manner
- Undertake and document daily, site specific risk assessments in order to complete work-scope safely and in a controlled and safe manner
- Manage the works efficiently utilising the optimal amount of labour and plant
- Maintain all documentation as required and submit in a timely manner
- Complete a daily diary of activities that have occurred on the project
- Complete a daily log of the labour hours worked and the plant used, and the materials used.
- Must stop any work that is unsafe - “Stop Work Authority” SWA
- Must put own safety and those of colleagues first
- Must start work only after assessing the risks
- Must demonstrate safety as an integral part of the job
- To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs

**Experience**

**Essential**:

- Working in the Utility/Construction Industry environment.
- Cable Installation experience, including setting up open track installations
- Setting people to work experience
- Excavation experience, including carriageway and deep excavations
- Experience of supervising and leading gangs of 5 people or more
- Very good understanding of safety principles and requirements in a construction site set-up
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholder at all levels
- Basic understanding of engineering principles
- Understanding of working with Health and Safety and Quality policies
- Experience of working in a team environment
