SMT Rework Technician

Bedford, Up to £40K per annum

An Electronics company with clientele in Defence and automotive sectors are looking for a Senior SMT rework and hand assembly Technician.

With an increasing work-load they are currently making a few new hires, they will put time and funding into training, and support you in your career to obtain the accreditations you need to progress.

Skills needed:

- Assembler in a CEM environment on high specification assemblies.
- Be used to working to IPC-610 Class 3 standards.
- Needs to be able to read complex electro/mechanical drawings, work with
- Minimal supervision and have an excellent attention to detail.
- Able to hand place SMT components down to 0402.
- To recognise, correctly orientate, and solder a broad selection of both SMT and through-hole packages while observing ESD precautions.
- Experience of reworking/modifying PCBs.

- IPC qualifications preferred but not essential.

Hours:

- Flexible start times, but set in stone after agreed, not flex day to day
- 20 days (+8 banks) - this increases by 1 after 5 years, and then again every year up to 30
- 40 hour week
- Overtime 1.25x Mon - Fri and Sat 1.5x
