Overview:
Rapiscan Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of OSI Systems, inc. designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.
**Role Overview**
As part of the programme, you will rotate through other departments to further enhance your experience and understanding within these business areas. Successful completion of the course and suitable performance throughout the apprenticeship could lead to a permenant position being offered.
To be trained and educated in electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, which includes design, assembly and testing. The apprentice will work for 3 days a week and 2 days at college.
**Responsibilities**:
- Electrical design - designing cabinet wiring, cabling and assisting in electrical changes to the core RTT design.
- Mechanical design - designing tooling to support the RTT machine and tube production, and assisting in mechanical changes to the core design.
- Engineering Change Notice (ECN) documentation - producing the documentation to get new designs and design changes approved and into production.
- Supplier relationships - maintaining good working relationships with our key suppliers for manufacturing sub-components and prototypes.
- Drawing Packages - producing drawing packages for new and current suppliers.
- Manufacturing and assembly - learning best practice methodologies for manufacturing.
- Quality assurance - learning QA methodologies and practices.
Qualifications:
- School leavers with an interest in engineering.
- Applicants will need a total of 3 to 5 GCSEs at grade (A*-C) or (9-4) which includes:
- GCSE grade (A*-C) or (4-9) in English
- GCSE grade (A*-C) or (4-9) in science
- GCSE grade (A*-C) or (4-9) in maths
