**Data Engineering Manager** required for a rapidly growing Data and Software organisation, based in Edinburgh.

The Company:
They have been in business for over 50 years and are at the forefront of data and analytics. Based in Edinburgh, they are expanding a number of parts of their software and data teams, but with a particular focus on a new product they are developing and releasingto market.

They have many strong and long-term relationships with their customers and are very well positioned in the marketplace. Their new focus in in the renewables sector and this is obviously a very topical market. For this role, they are ideally looking for peopleto be based in and around the Edinburgh area - with it ideal if you can get into the office 2/3 days a week. They do also have offices in Glasgow, so this could potentially be looked at.

The role:
You will be looking after a team of Data Engineers and the key focus to this role is the management side of things. You will be mentoring and coaching the junior members of the team and will also need to be adept at stakeholder management - largely internalfacing across an organisation of circa 10,000 people. This is not a hands-on role, but having a technical background would be very handy. You will be involved in high-level technical discussions (system design/architecture etc) and you will be tasked withimbedding an environment of continuous improvement across the team.

Key Skills and Experience:
**Experience managing a team of Data Engineers/Scientists

**Ability to ensure modern data engineering development practices, standards and architectures are applied consistently across the development streams

**Technical understanding in areas such as data processing and orchestration technologies (e.g. Python, Spark, Airflow, AWS/Azure)

**Ability to collaborate with Product Owners to ensure the technical deliverables are met

**Identifying bottlenecks and mitigate high-risk elements in the process and remove roadblocks to success

**Strong stakeholder management skills
