We are looking to recruit a Part
- Time Health and Safety Administrator at Park Vet Group.

The Health and Safety role extends to each of the 4 branches within the Park brand. This role would require working with our Health and Safety Champion:

- An organised individual who has excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise their work and split their time well between all branches;
- Proficient in the use of IT equipment eg: Microsoft Word, Excel & Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and the ability to learn new systems;
- Have good communication skills to liaise and support associates locally within branches, the Practice Manager and Operations Directors;
- Have good attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
- Be approachable with the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and contractors;
- Attend regular meetings where H&S is part of the agenda to relay progress on tasks and actions;
- Be adaptable and adjust to new ways of working.

This role requires a dedicated individual who provides a critical service for their business keeping their colleagues safe and well.

The role is part time of 22.5 hours per week - 4.5 hours per day, 1 day at each site per week and 4.5 hours working from home or with the practice manager in practice depending on the workload.

Experience in this role or a background of understanding health and safety is essential.

IOSH certificate would be preferred but not limited as full training can be provided.

Below is a list of tasks that would be required to undertake this role. This list is not exhaustive, or prescriptive. The Clinical Director and Practice Manager are responsible for deciding how they organise their health and safety arrangements within their practices and areas of responsibility. A clear list of objectives and tasks to be undertaken in the role are to be agreed upon appointment with time allocations being developed jointly and reviewed periodically.

**Tasks that Health and Safety Administrator may undertake**:

- Assisting the Clinical Director and Practice Manager in the conduct of health and safety monitoring inspections, as required by policy. This can take the form of visits to each practice to complete the monitoring form, or collating results provided by others, and conducting random sample visits;
- Attending meetings - providing Health and Safety related agenda items for discussion. This may include minutes, monitoring actions arising and assisting in, or coordinating, and the implementation of actions;
- Attending regular update meetings with the practice manager on H&S compliance and progress;
- Attending internal / external and online Health and Safety Training Courses;
- Attending Linnaeus Group Health and Safety update meetings / seminars and feeding information back to the Clinical Director and Practice Manager with any items for action locally;
- Regular communication with the Brand’s Regional Health and Safety Manager on Health and Safety matters who will provide support and guidance;
- Investigating health and safety accidents and incidents via the online reporting system.
- Policies and procedures issued centrally via SharePoint, Safety Media or Teams - Tasks may include reviewing the content, commenting on documents under consultation, developing implementation plans for new policies and procedures, or leading on the implementation of plans;
- Health and safety training - tasks may include supporting the delivery of induction and refresher training where required, coordinating or arranging safety training and monitoring attendance rates at mandatory safety related training;
- Monitoring contractor controls, including during refurbishment works, and frequent liaison and attendance at meetings with Project Managers;
- Managing practices to ensure the completion of weekly and monthly compliance actions locally eg: fire alarm test, emergency lighting tests;
- Coordinating and completing compliance tasks to include actions undertaken locally on a quarterly, 6 monthly and annual basis eg: practice fire evacuation drills;
- Monitoring the implementation of actions arising from the compliance reports eg: Fire and legionella risk assessments, asbestos surveys;
- Monitoring the quality of general risk assessments produced and working with managers/Associates less familiar with the risk assessment process to further develop these;
- Monitoring the quality of specific risk assessments (for example new and expectant mothers, lone working, display screens and manual handling) and assisting others where required where you have the necessary competence with these assessments;
- Assisting with health and safety questions within audits and visits by external enforcement agencies;
- Submitting the monthly Health and Safety Summary Report to the Group Health and Safety Team via the internal Software packages in order to support the development of the Group Health and Safety Dashboard Report;
- Providing support with reports
