An exciting opportunity has arisen for an RTT Validation Co-Ordinator to join the Digestive Diseases Team in MEC. The successful applicant will have strong communication, IT and organisation skills and be able to prioritise their own workload. An ability to understand the need for maintaining confidentiality is also essential. The main duty includes tracking patients on RTT pathways to ensure that delays to patients are kept to a minimum, appointments are promptly offered, and records are kept up to date. Other general admin duties may be expected in this role.

- To provide full administrative & booking support to the MEC Directorate management team for patients on 18 week RTT pathways.
- Undertake proactive monitoring and tracking of patients on RTT pathways ensuring that patient treatments are delivered in a timely and efficient manner in line with National RTT targets.
- Work with the outpatient and diagnostic booking teams to schedule patient appointments, identifying any delays and ensuring earlier dates are offered where possible.
- Take an active role in communicating with patients and supporting booking teams by booking appointments on Trust systems ( Cerner).
- Ensure diagnostics and investigations that are required, have been requested, scheduled and reported on in a timely manner with necessary follow up actions completed promptly.
- Escalate challenging delays in patients’ pathways to the MEC Directorate management team for support with plans.
- Ensure accurate recording of pathway status on the Trust electronic systems (Cerner).
- Review stopped patient pathways, ensure accuracy and correct closure of patient pathways where appropriate.
- It is imperative that the post holder has a full understanding of the National Referral to Treatment (RTT) waiting time targets, and the impact of this on both the patient and the Trust.
