**Base Location**: This role is a flexible hybrid working arrangement with an expectation that some time will be spent working from the site where the team operates in Bradford.

**What will your role involve?**

This is a vital role in ensuring we achieve our aspirations and performance commitment targets to reduce Internal and External Sewer Flooding as well as Pollution. The Network Protection Team Leader will drive the delivery of industry leading customer service and operational excellence through role model leadership.

Yorkshire water operates and maintains over 55,000km of public sewers alongside 5 million customers throughout the Yorkshire region. The disposal of unsuitable materials such as wipes, sanitary products, fats, oils and greases (FOG), has significant impact on the performance of our sewers resulting in blockages with subsequent risks of property flooding and watercourse pollution. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a team to tackle network abuse across the wastewater network, working with customers and internal teams you will actively be part of reducing blockages and sewer flooding, protecting our network, customers and environment.

The role will primarily lead a team of Network Protection Officers, Network Engagement Technicians and Network Protection Co-ordinator, ensuring that Health, Safety and Wellbeing is at the forefront of all activities - protecting Yorkshire Waters assets from network abuse whilst also implementing and improving our approach to protect our sewers and improve the health of our network.

The Network Protection Team Leader will work with other WaSCS and National bodies (such as WaterUK) to further develop the national approach, including influencing Government Policy where appropriate. The role will also review, share and adopt industry good practice to become a leader in service.

In addition, working with our legal teams the role will develop our strategy, policy and approach to enforcement, ensuring that we have a staged approach with litigation as part of that process.

The Network Protection Team Leader will support the company’s Sewer Flooding and Pollution Strategy through the monitoring of high-risk sites of network abuse as well as supporting customer education and engagement to influence positive behaviour change.

The role will ensure learning is identified and disseminated effectively across the wider business and that our wastewater processes are rigorous and effective to identify the source of network abuse and gather sufficient evidence to take corrective action. The role will support risk awareness, performance and management are imbedded in our core operational day to day practices by driving a culture of operational excellence.

- Excellent written & communication skills.
- You will be competent in the use of IT systems including Odyssey, SAP, ICE and Microsoft Applications
- Ability to translate the responsibilities and accountabilities of the role using the Company’s behaviours.
- Strong team leadership and performance management skills and an ability to embed the Company’s Values and Behaviours throughout the team.
- Highly motivated with a clearly demonstrated ability to use their own initiative in dealing with events and the unforeseen.
