A fantastic opportunity has arisen with our client based in Guildford are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join their IT Team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of projects including estimating, planning, monitoring,controlling, and reporting. To co-ordinate and bring to completion projects within agreed constraints of time, cost and quality. This will require a variety of skills including managing and directing project teams in a matrix management environment, settingdeadlines, assigning responsibilities, summarising the status of projects, and seeking and taking direction from project boards and corporate management. Experience within IT/Tech change would be desirable.

The role is offered on a Hybrid basis, ideally 2 days per week, however this could be negotiable.

**Key Responsibilities of the Technical Project Manager**
- To design and create realistic project plans according to defined PMO processes to ensure that work packages are clearly defined, costed and resourced; and that risks, issues, assumptions and project board decisions are clearly understood and managed.
- To estimate and monitor costs, timescales resource requirements and scope for the successful delivery of projects to agreed terms of reference (e.g. PID (Project Initiation Document)). To take appropriate action where these variables are predicted to deviatefrom agreed tolerances.
- To use the enterprise project and resource management tool (currently MS EPM) to produce schedules, highlight reports and other related project documentation as defined by the PMO.
- To manage the lifecycle of projects (e.g. checkpoint reports, end stage reports, issue register, risk register) to ensure that project deliverables are completed within budget, to timescale, and to defined levels of quality (fitness-for-purpose).
- To provide regular and accurate project status updates (e.g. highlight reports) to project boards and other stakeholders, at frequencies agreed with the project boards and/or corporate management.
- To identify and articulate dependencies on, or deliverables for, other programmes and projects within the IT change portfolio.
- To work closely with colleagues in IT and in business departments to understand requirements and to ensure that solutions delivered by projects meet defined business needs.
- To liaise with technical staff (e.g. Technical Design Authority (TDA)) in the design and development of approved solutions that will be delivered via projects and will deliver business benefits.
- To adhere to the ITIL based Change Management Process, where required.
- To manage third party suppliers to ensure that products and/or services delivered are compliant with the agreed contracts and that they deliver on time, within budget and to defined levels of quality (fitness-for-purpose).
- To work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding of relevant project processes (e.g. IT governance and project resourcing) and the roles and responsibilities of all project stakeholders.
- To communicate clearly to project team members relevant organisational, divisional and team aims and initiatives.
- To be accountable for ensuring successful handover of project deliverables into operational support.

**Key Skills required from the Technical Project Manager**
- Technical knowledge and experience of the following (with a more in-depth knowledge of at least one of the specialist areas below):

- Application and database technologies
- Infrastructure technologies
- A high level of proficiency in the use of MS Project and SharePoint.
- Extensive experience of managing projects within a formal project management framework (e.g. PRINCE2) in a complex environment including projects of varying sizes.
- Extensive technical experience of delivering business change in a complex, multi-site IT environment.
- Able to deliver technical solutions in response to problems as they arise during the life-cycle of a project.
- Experience of developing technical specifications from user requirements, and of testing completed products against technical specifications & quality criteria.
- Able to demonstrate continuous assessment of progress, management of risks and issues and taking suitable corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality requirements (fitness-for-purpose) in order to satisfy businessneeds.
- Able to chair meetings effectively and to present project information to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Able to communicate technical issues effectively to specialists and non-specialists both verbally and in writing.
