**An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CAMHS clinician within the Single Point of Access (SPA) for Walsall CAMHS.**

**The SPA requires an experienced and dynamic professional to work across the front door to our service, providing specialist assessment and triage of referrals into CAMHS. The post holder will take on a split role between referral triage, initial assessments and brief interventions with young people and their families.**

**Main duties of the job**
- To provide a quality specialist service to clients (and their families/carers) referred to CAMHS across all sectors of care.
- Triage referrals into CAMHS, including the assessment and prioritisation of clinical complexity and risk.
- To lead on referral and triage pathways and processes within CAMHS.
- To promote the reputation of CAMHS.
- To provide specialist assessment and intervention for complex mental health needs and to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise systematic governance of practice within CAMHS.
- Effectively assess and prioritise clinical complexity and risk.
- Liaise with referrers and professionals in relation to clinical concerns and queries.
- Be a clinical point of contact for children, young people and families.
- Effectively liaise with referrers, professionals, partners and agencies in relation to referrals and/or assessments.

**Person specification**

**Essential & Desirable Criteria**

**Essential criteria**
- Full professional qualification as accredited by relevant professional body
- Evidence of substantial experience of assessment and intervention with children and young people with highly complex mental health (including LD) needs and their families.
- A sound knowledge of psychological, emotional and social needs of children and adolescents

**Desirable criteria**
- Evidence of ongoing professional development

**Salary**: £33,706.00-£40,588.00 per year
