Chaperone

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Chaperone to work within HMP Kirkham on a 3-month contract.

**Location**: HMP Kirkham

**Job role/responsibilities**:

- To assist in the collection and delivery of students and other clients to and from their schools or other establishments in a safe and supportive manner.
- Work with the driver to load and unload clients in and out of the vehicle.
- Ensure that when the vehicle is travelling, clients are securely strapped in position using the full range of restraint equipment.
- When clients are being transported, sit, and assist them on their journey.
- Report any concerns over the physical, mental, or other health needs of the client to the parents, school and or line manager.

**Skills/experience required**:

- Ability to assist the driver in ensuring that all occupants on our vehicle are securely strapped in position.
- The ability to assist the driver in ensuring the driver is not distracted by any incidents that occur whilst the vehicle is on the move.
- The ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with work colleagues, members of the public and councilors.
- Ability to identify physical, mental, or other health needs of our client.
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health needs of children.
- Experience working with children and vulnerable people.
