Trainee Engraver

We currently have a very exciting opportunity for a Trainee Engraver to join our award winning banknote design team here at De La Rue in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

This role is responsible for producing high quality engravings & drawings from customer or designer supplied reference for use on designs and in production. The job holder will work within the Engraving section of the Design department, taking instruction from experienced staff to produce well thought out/accurate artwork for both proof and production in line with documented procedures. The Trainee Engraver will also produce artwork for vignettes & progress to portraits along with multi colour artwork for litho vignettes and will learn and develop these skills using pen drawn artwork and appropriate tablet or other hardware.

**Working hours**: Full Time - 36.5 hrs per week

**Base location**: Basingstoke (office based)

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

You will have to have completed an agreed Apprenticeship or Trainee period or will have relevant industry experience.

An imaginative artistic flair & creative ability. High level of freehand drawing ability.

Self motivation and be capable of making decisions where appropriate

Flexibility to work to tight schedules at short notice

Performed as a team player

Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills.

An enquiring mind with good problem solving skills
