Associate Specialist

**About The Role**:
We are seeking an Associate Specialist in Anaesthetics in Ilford who is ready to join a small team of dedicated clinicians striving for excellence in an efficient unit whose main workload is Orthopaedics.

We would expect you to be able to work autonomously as evidenced by your logbook and recent appraisal. You will have pride in the quality of your work and be well versed and involved in clinical governance, teaching and audit. You need to be a good team player who is ready to be flexible and willing to meet the needs of the service and colleagues. Quality improvement is as an important factor and we welcome innovation and enthusiasm in developing a high-quality service for our patients.

We pride ourselves in striving for excellence, innovation and are developing day-case major arthroplasty pathways, adherence to GIRFT ideals as well as trialling and introducing new implants.

The salary is based on 45 hours per week, with 5 hours each for one SPA and pro rata On Call. The rest of the 35 hours would be Direct Clinical Care. The allocation is 5 hours per session with 10 hours per day. On Call is covered between the team, this includes weekend cover too. The Saturdays are normal working days.

**About You**:
At Practice Plus Group we believe in supporting each other and sharing best practice and you would be expected to become an integral part of our team of consultants led by the Medical Director, Hospital Director and Senior leadership management team as well as attending meetings and contributing to teaching of our centre staff.

With a current registration with the GMC’s specialist register of anaesthetists, you will have several years’ experience, at least five of which are within the UK, after the initial training. You are committed to your own continuing medical education and professional development. We will also support you to ensure ongoing medical competence through participation in the annual revalidation and reaccreditation schemes of the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. As well as providing mandatory training through our excellent in-house education, programme. We could even give you the opportunity to develop into a specialist role of your interest.
