This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy working with children who have special educational needs. This is a mainstream school with an excellent SEN provision, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse rangeof students who require additional support, including those on the autism spectrum.

The school welcomes applicants with out experience and Graduates looking to gain school experience with a view to progressing their career in education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will receive the necessary training and support to thrive in yourrole.

This is a full-time role with a pay rate of £90 per day, starting as soon as possible. It's an amazing chance to gain valuable experience in a school setting and make a real difference in the lives of young people with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide academic, social, and emotional support to students on the autism spectrum, both individually and in groups
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver customised support to students with autism, using strategies such as visual supports, social stories, and sensory regulation techniques
- Foster positive relationships with students on the autism spectrum, building trust and rapport with them
- Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers
- Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons and activities, modifying materials to meet the needs of students with autism
- Offer pastoral support to students on the autism spectrum as needed, helping them to manage their emotions and develop resilience

Key Requirements:

- Passion for education and working with children with autism
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in visual supports and other communication strategies
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour, using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support
- Flexibility and adaptability, responding to the changing needs of students with autism
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
