**Qualifications-Must have a minimum of QCF level 3 in Health & Social care or equivalent in this field, preferably QCF level 5 or above with experience of supporting and working with vulnerable families. You must be flexible with hours and willing to develop through training and support.**

22 hours per week
- This is a 15 month post with a possibility for extension depending on funding.

Supporting approx. 10-11 families at any one time

**Salary**

GO6 - GO7- £25,409- £28,900 pro rata, depending on experience.

**Purposes of Job**

To contribute to the effective day to day operation of the scheme in accordance with the Family Friends Governing documents, Standards and Methods of Practice, Family Friends Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards.
- To provide intensive support to families in crisis or nearing family break down
- To effectively work with local agencies to prevent escalation of breakdown
- To maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the ethos of Family Friends
- To ensure inclusion and diversity in all aspects of the scheme’s operation and work.
- To ensure all records of contact are inputted on the database & paperwork is completed and stored accurately and securely.

**Main Responsibilities**

**Working within the scheme delivery.**
- Working co-operatively with the Manager to ensure targets are reached and reporting is completed on time.
- Supporting the implementation and review of all Family Friends

policies and procedures
- Attending and contributing to any fundraising activities.

**Support for families**
- Completing structured assessments based on the needs of families.
- Introducing families to appropriate support and services
- Ensuring support to families are reviewed and recorded at regular intervals and at end of Family Friends support.
- To undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children and vulnerable adult’s welfare.

**Managing Volunteers**
- Managing smooth transition from FSW to volunteer or other projects within the service.
- Matching and introducing volunteers to families

**Working In Partnership**
- liaising with referrers and appropriate agencies
- Networking appropriately within the community

**Managing the Wider Context**
- Promoting the scheme its profile, ethos and practice
- Contributing to the development of Family Friends

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22 per week

**Salary**: £13.21-£15.02 per hour
