Contract Type: Casual /Temporary

Co-op Academy North Manchester, is seeking to appoint additional members to our team of external exam invigilators for the forthcoming summer season of external examinations and beyond.

You will be part of a team responsible for providing support in public and internal examinations, including invigilation of exams, monitoring exam rooms and ensuring examination regulations are adhered to. The working hours are flexible depending on the number and length of examinations taking place. They are scheduled as morning and/or afternoon sessions.

To be successful in this role you will need to be well organised, confident and work well as part of a team. Previous invigilation experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

The role of the Examination Invigilator is that you will be part of a team responsible for providing support in public and internal examinations, including invigilation of exams, monitoring exam rooms and ensuring regulations are adhered to. The working hours are flexible depending on the number and length of examinations taking place. They are organised into morning and/or afternoon sessions.

Experience

Experience is not required, as training will be provided, although applicants will be asked to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.

Main Responsibilities

1. To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Co-op Academy North Manchester instructions.

2. To play a key role in upholding the integrity of the examination process

Before exams
- To report to and be briefed by the Exams and Assessment officer prior to each exam session
- To keep exam papers and materials secure before, during and after exams
- To ensure exam rooms are set out according to the instructions

During exams
- To keep disruption in exam rooms to a minimum
- To deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
- To record/report any disruption or irregularities
- To complete attendance registers

After exams
- To collect exam scripts
- To attend training, refresher or review sessions as required
- To undertake, where required and where able, other duties requested by the exams officer, for example
- exams-related administrative tasks
