This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic team across four North London Boroughs. Based in Islington Council, you will be the administrator supporting three outreach teams: The Key Working Service in Islington and Camden, the TCAPS Service based across Islington, Camden, Haringey and Enfield and the Family Outreach Team in Islington.

These teams provide intensive, relationship focused support for children and young people who have autism and/or learning disabilities. The team provide short-term, home-based interventions and you would be supporting the team to provide an excellent service to families across the boroughs. The aim of the service is to promote positive outcomes, support families to increase their resilience and confidence to manage at home and improve quality of life for children and young people and their families.

This is an exciting project across four North Central London Boroughs, and you will be supporting the team members to provide outreach support for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in those boroughs.

You will work across social care and health, as well as other partner agencies, organising meetings and observations and ensuring working together with other professionals is at the heart of our work. You will support the manager to process referrals, manage the waitlist and upload notes and documents on various systems. You will be integral to the smooth operations and running of a busy and dynamic team and support with data collection and monitoring of outcomes.

You will have excellent organisational skills, an interest in supporting children and families and be flexible and motivated to improve the general functioning and operations of the team.

The Outreach Teams across North Central London have grown from a small Pilot project in 2019 to a team of 10 Outreach Practitioners, two Deputy Managers and one Operational Manager. We are dedicated to supporting families and empowering young people with neurodiversity and disabilities.

We are a diverse team who are motivated to make changes, with an emphasis on building relationships and having a strengths based approach. It is an exciting time to be part of this growing outreach team and be part of making positive changes for families across the four Boroughs in which we operate.

For this role, you will need to work from our Islington based office around 3 days a week.

To contribute to the general operations of the outreach teams by:
To take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young person’s / vulnerable adults in your care and those who you come into contact with.

To undertake regular Child Protection training at a level commensurate with role.

To provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the Teams and to assist the Operational Manager to maintain and improve administrative systems.

Work co-operatively with supervisors and colleagues to assist in providing a comprehensive, efficient and flexible administrative service to all members of the outreach team, thus ensuring the service operates effectively and efficiently.

To maintain good working relationships with other teams within health an health and social care, outside agencies and children, young people and parents/carers referred to the services.

To assist in ensuring that paper and electronic filing systems are accurate, accessible and kept up-to-date through photocopying and scanning documents; filing documents; retrieving and returning case files from the archives.

To deal sensitively with enquiries or telephone messages, logging calls accurately and alerting social work staff or managers immediately to any issues requiring immediate attention.

To use Microsoft Office to produce reports, spreadsheets and other documents as required and in the correct format. To collate data effectively and efficiently for monitoring purposes.

Carry out basic financial tasks, e.g. reconciling and paying out of petty cash and food vouchers, issuing of travel warrants, the processing invoices for payment, making purchase card payments and monitoring expenditure.

Assisting with meeting preparation, room bookings, verifying attendance, providing hospitality and taking and producing minutes, as well as supporting to make resources for children and young people where needed.

To ensure an adequate and accessible supply of stationery and consumables are provided to the team and to monitor equipment repairs and replacements.

Use and assist others in using ICT systems to undertake duties in the most effective and efficient manner, and to liaise with partners in other boroughs to ensure cross-borough working is efficient.
