**Rate**:£23.86 Per Hour

**About Us**: Join our team in Hackney and play a key role in shaping the future of people and property safety across the Council. We are committed to advancing Health and Safety objectives, ensuring safe methods of work and premises for our staff, users, and others.

**Key Responsibilities**: As a Health and Safety Officer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of health and safety programs, projects, and policies. Your role involves providing expert advice and support to managers and employees on health and safety matters. Key responsibilities include:

- Offering guidance on legal compliance, operational best practices, accident and ill-health prevention.
- Conducting audits and reporting on health and safety performance across the Council.
- Assisting managers in the preparation and implementation of health and safety risk assessments.
- Providing a quality assurance function for risk assessments.
- Contributing to the Council's monitoring of health and safety performance to identify trends and inadequately controlled risks.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A recognized qualification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a health and safety role.
- Knowledge of legal requirements and best practices in health and safety.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to provide practical and solution-focused advice.
- Attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough audits and assessments.
- Analytical mindset to identify trends and risks.
