**Job overview**:
This post is for a combined Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Gynaecology commitments include elective and emergency gynaecology with participation out of hours on-call rota and gynaecology hot weeks. The job plan has a general gynaecology clinic and a community gynaecology clinic and a theatre session. This post requires an interest in supporting and further developing our early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology service (0.5 PA) and includes a weekly session in our early pregnancy and gynaecology triage area. The job will include vetting and advice and guidance commitments as appropriate.

Obstetric commitments include both routine and emergency obstetrics and on call for obstetrics.The key clinical requirements of the post are to provide consultant labour suite cover, elective caesarean lists, Ward rounds, assessment unit cover and antenatal clinics.

The Maternity and Gynaecology department includes all hospital and community based obstetrics, gynaecology and midwifery services. 44 consultants contribute to our obstetrics and gynaecology service.

The hospital based services are split between the City hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre sites. Both have a labour suite which is associated with a level 3 Neonatal Unit, dedicated obstetric anaesthetic service, and inpatient and outpatient obstetric services. There is a 3 tier junior doctor 24 hour presence. Our fetal medicine centre accepts regional referrals, and is delivered across the two sites. There is a dedicated maternal medicine service, with multi-professional clinics including obstetric haematology, renal, and medical. There is a strong research presence in the department, with Nottingham contributing to, and leading, national and international clinical trials. We have dedicated scan clinics and a team of midwifery sonographers working alongside our radiology teams.

Our gynaecology service includes urogynaecology, reproductive medicine, benign and emergency gynaecology, and gynae oncology.

There are weekly consultant meetings (via MSTeams) and quarterly departmental meetings.
