The department offers training to A, B and C placement dietetic students and the post holder will also be expected to be involved in the clinical teaching and assessments of students on placement and training will be provided.

This role offers rotations in the following areas, with rotations allocated based on preference and departmental need:

East Lancashire Hospitals Trust is a large integrated health care organisation providing acute secondary healthcare for the people of East Lancashire, in the heart of the North West. We are a specialist centre for many services including hepatobiliary, vascular, head and neck and cancer services, specialist cardiology services, a digestive diseases unit and being a network provider of Neonatal Intensive Care. The trust covers a wide geographical area with a culturally diverse population, and prides itself on supporting the training, health and wellbeing of its employees.

The post holder will be provided with regular clinical supervision, excellent clerical support, and extensive CPD opportunities, including shadowing specialist dietitians in their clinical areas. We operate a band 5 peer support group to help with development and support. You will be working in a friendly and supportive department of 80 staff that has over 45 Dietitians as well as Assistants and Assistant Practitioners, and is well known for its innovation and development.

During the Pandemic we appreciate that placement training has had its limitations. Therefore, our rotation scheme allows you to develop further into a variety of specialist areas and gain skills you may not have had opportunities to experience or develop fully on your student placement.
