Sc Cleared Backup

**SC Cleared Backup & Restore Specialist (Virtual, Veritas NetBackup, HP, VMware)**: Experienced, UK based Backup and Restore Support Specialists are required to work on a Migration Factory Project for a leading Government organisation.

**Current valid SC Clearance is required (must be active in the last 12 months)**

**This is an Inside IR35 engagement for 6 months offering remote working**

**There will be some out of ours work**

We are looking for UK based Backup and Restore Specialists to join a thriving 2nd Line Backup and Recovery support team. As part of a small team within a larger Operations organization, your role will be to deliver support services and change to backup platforms that are critical to the Customer.

**Key responsibilities include -**
- Resolution of incidents, problems and backup failure
- Delivering backup infrastructure change
- Performing data restores at customer request
- Identifying and delivering service improvements
- Develop the capability and skills of peers and junior engineers
- You can expect to attain skills in new technologies to ensure continued growth of technical capability, with opportunities to work with all operational teams (inc. Storage, Windows, Solaris/Linux and AIX teams) to enhance that learning

**Your experience -**
- Solid and recent experience of supporting (1st & 2nd Line) backups of servers and virtual payloads
- Good knowledge of backup and restore technologies
- Experience of working in teams effectively
- Proactive approach to personal workload management
- General awareness of how incident and change is managed in an IT environment (desirable)
- Use and support of any backup software and storage appliances (ideally Veritas NetBackup and HP but not mandatory)
- Use and support of backups in a VMWare environment
- General knowledge of supporting backups on various server operating systems - Windows, Linux (RHEL & SLES), AIX and Solaris
