**Role Definition**:
As Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor you will provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and Safety activities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes control measures for protection from those hazards by managing the facilities risk assessment programme.
- Governs the EHS training plan to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
- Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
- Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.
- Understands various sustainability practices adopted by the organization.
- Manages the facility industrial hygiene and health surveillance programmes and associated improvement plans.
- Identifies common technology, security, or financial risks relevant to own function or unit.
- Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process.
- Advises others in analysing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives.
- Uses effective decision-making approaches such as consultative, command, or consensus.
- Helps to analyse risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.
- Determines criteria for assessing vendors which may have potential environmental impact.
- Formulates health and safety plans and policies with sound stakeholder management and internal consultation processes.
- Trains employees on HSE policy compliance and measures understanding.
- Collaborates across multiple departments to facilitate EHS management.
- Provides steer for safety culture team to guide the business through cultural change.
- Effectively manages high level of process control on local and corporate recordkeeping and reporting.
- Adminstrates the claims defense for BCP UK facilities following EHS standard work to engage legal counsel.

**Required qualifications**:

- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree level qualifications and robust foundations of the principles of health and safety compliance.
- Specialist courses on industrial health and safety aspects, such as working at height, confined spaces etc.
- Demonstrated team leadership
- Run EHS Teams previously in smaller setting ready to upscale to complex organisation.
- Demonstrated leader for strategic safety culture improvements
- Passion for continued professional development.
- Risk based prioritisation of a heavy team workload.

**Salary**:£43,500-£50,000

**Contract**:Permanent
