Urban Utopia Landscapes Ltd is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic
Gardener to join our team of qualified Horticulturists, Gardeners, Junior
Gardeners, and Apprentices.

We work with residential and commercial clients across Edinburgh, and the Lothians. This role offers an opportunity to work with both local and national organisations.

Manager regarding the weekly work schedule and will receive and act on instructions, ensuring work is delegated to Junior Gardeners and Apprentices.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

- Grass cutting using walk behind and ride on mowers
- Strimming
- Edging
- Weeding
- Hedge cutting
- Pruning shrubs
- Planting
- Spraying
- Waste removal / Litter picking
- Installing and maintaining green roofs
- Installing living walls
- Landscaping, including laying patios and decking
- Gritting / Snow clearing
- Checking and maintaining machines

You will also be required to drive company vehicles, whilst towing a trailer.

**Essential Criteria**
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Gardening / Grounds Maintenance role (References will be taken up)
- Full clean driver’s license, held for a minimum of 3 years
- Experience of using walk behind and ride on mowers

**Desirable Criteria**
- PA1, PA6 Spraying certificates
- CSCS Card
- Supervisory experience
- Current emergency first aid certificate
- Experience using zero turn lawnmowers
- Some plant knowledge would be beneficial

**Person Specification**

A ‘can do’ attitude and good attention to detail is essential, along with a high standard of work and professionalism.

The role requires flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change and work that may need to be re-prioritised at short notice.

April to October are our busy summer months, so we are looking for someone who is willing to work overtime when required. During the winter, we provide gritting and snow clearing services, so this will require some unsociable hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Enhanced overtime will be paid for evening and weekend work.
