**The Role**

We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated and engaging individual to join our Town Build Team. Reporting into the External Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of External Contractors undertaking blockage clearance, chamber build and duct installation across PIA and new build environments. You will be expected to take the lead, driving delivery on site whilst ensuring compliance with company and legislative health and safety and quality standards. It would be your responsibility to ensure that job packs, material and system requirements are all managed. Therefore, previous experience in a similar role is essential.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for all assurance with External Contractors to ensure compliance with all matters relating to the build, including but not limited to, Health & Safety, Quality and Delivery Milestones
- Supervision and coordination of civils activities undertaken by the External Contractors
- Stakeholder management and engagement with the Highways Authority, ensuring that statutory legislation is adhered to
- Customer facing with regular interactions with members of the public through management of any customer complaints on the ground, working to resolve any issues in a timely manner
- Keeping all progress up to date on the company's central management system
- Deliver clear and constructive guidance and support to External Contractors to ensure a smooth build
- Responsibility for assurance across quality and Health & Safety standards to ensure they are being applied by the contractor ensuring compliance as stipulated on the skills matrix, performance assessments and training
- Managing all quality issues by ensuring the Contractor resolves all defects within a timely manner
- Overall responsibility for the site set-up and ongoing maintenance, with strong focus on NRSWA and CDM compliance
- Run daily stand-up calls to discuss commitments / projected forecasts and completions
- Undertaking daily risk assessments on sites ensuring necessary changes or requirements are captured and actioned
- Drive a safety-first culture within the civils operations; coaching, supporting and mentoring operatives
- Ownership of work packs, works validation and site-specific planning in line with pre-construction information
- Ensuring correct documentation is available on site at all times such as RAMS, work packs, utility prints etc
- Ownership of material requirements for allocated works to ensure materials are available as required for build
- Liaising with stakeholders, carrying out site meetings with representatives to discuss works, permit conditions and agree requirements to ensure smooth delivery of the network
- Organisation and resource management of the civils teams to ensure efficient and effective working
- Communicating with the management team to ensure timely escalation of risks as they arise

**Requirements**:

- Negotiation and relationship building skills
- Experience in street works working environment and an in-depth knowledge of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991
- Must have a valid NRSWA Supervisor qualification (civils units)
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety specifically CDM
- Previous experience in a similar role (Civils Supervisor minimum)
- Understanding of Local Authority permit to work Schemes and FPN’s
- Experience conducting H&S / quality audits, managing SHEQ on site
