We are currently looking for Reinstatement Operatives to support our reinstatement department in our Scotland North Region (Fife/ Perth and Dundee)

**So, what will you be doing day to day?**

You will be supporting our Reinstatement Team Leaders on site and learning from them every day in the reinstatement of public carriageways, footpaths, and verges as well as in our customers gardens and private property. The physical aspect of this job involvesexcavating/digging in the public/private highways, backfilling of excavations, and laying of surfaces courses such as tar, concrete, paving slabs and monoblocs using different types of mechanical and manual equipment. You will be working in a variety of outdoorenvironments safely and as part of a team. You will also maintain the SGN vehicle and tools/ equipment before and after each job.

**What you’ll need**
- NRSWA Operative Qualification
- Cable locating skills
- Knowledge of site set up including boards and barriers
- Understanding of site safety
- Communicative and Inter-personal skills, including the ability to converse with members of the public
- You will be expected to be flexible and to work variable hours participating in the 24-hour standby rota
- A full and valid driving licence is essential

It would be advantageous if you had experience of:

- Location of underground apparatus.
- Signing, lighting and guarding.
- Excavation in the highway.
- Reinstatement of compaction and backfill materials.
- Reinstatement of sub-base and road base non-bituminous materials.
- Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials.
- Reinstatement of hot-lay bituminous materials.
- Reinstatement of concrete slabs.
- Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways.
