**Would you like to work alongside and support 80+ Dietitians working in general and specialist areas and Wards across CUH for both Inpatients and Outpatients?**

**The Dietetic Assistant (DA) role involves face to face adult patient reviews on a variety of Wards, preparing GP prescriptions, Community referrals, ordering supplements and patient phone calls as part of your essential support to the Dietitians within the department. This post is a mix of clinical administration processes alongside face-to-face and virtual contact with patients. You will work under the direction and support of a range of Dietitians (Bands 5 - 8a) across a wide range of patient conditions.**

**The position is required to be on-site to assist the Dietitians with the changing demands of their acute caseloads and for supervision.**

**We are working towards, and supporting Dietetic Apprenticeships within the Department; working as a DA would be a pre-requisite to the Apprenticeship Scheme (if successful).**

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge and skill
- GCSE (Grade C or above) Maths and English or equivalent
- Willing to undertake further training in dietetic practice

Experience

Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working with people
- Work experience in a care environment

Desirable criteria
- Work experience with food and nutrition

Knowledge

Essential criteria
- Appreciates own limitations

Desirable criteria
- Understands the role of the Dietitian

**Skills**:
Essential criteria
- Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Works well in a team under supervision and on own initiative when required
- Good time management skills, organised and flexible
