Positive Outcomes Childcare Limited is an exciting therapeutic residential care provider, with homes situated across Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

We specialise in supporting children and young people who may have experienced social, behavioural, or emotional difficulties due to disrupted attachments, abuse, neglect and trauma.

- **This role does not require previous experience within a residential setting caring for children and young people, however, if you do not hold a Level 3 Diploma children and young people or equivalent, you must be willing to complete a Level 4 apprenticeship (Fully funded). The role does involve working a consistent shift pattern inclusive of sleep in duties.**_
- **You must hold a full UK manual driving licence for this role**_

**Duties**:
Always ensure that the ethos of the Statement of Purpose is applied.

Assist the Registered Manager to ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the child or young person being looked after and is compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children’s Homes.

Adhere to statutory and Positive Outcomes Ltd policies and procedures.

Work collaboratively and co-operate willingly to ensure optimum delivery of day to day care.

To be a Key Worker where designated and contribute to the child or young person’s plan which reflects his / her care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs. Ensure that this plan is regularly reviewed

Maintain a positive and supportive culture within the staff team.

Show concern for staff welfare, offering support at times of stress and illness, praising work where appropriate.

Attend to issues of staff motivation and morale, be involved in supporting, coaching and mentoring staff.

Promote personal and professional development through the appropriate delegation of duties and responsibilities.

Ensure that staff always maintain client confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.

Be a positive role model for the child or young person and colleagues and encourage both to develop meaningful relationships and attachments.

Read and understand Company policies and procedures and ensure their operation within the home.

Report to a line manager or other appropriate person, in the event of awareness of poor practice.

Receive training appropriate to the role and maintain an up-to-date training profile.

Maintain up to date knowledge of the statutory and procedural framework for residential care and communicate this to staff as appropriate.

Work flexibly to meet changing needs of the business including providing cover as and when required.

Undertake any other duties as may be necessary

6 Sleep ins required per month - additional sleep in duties required are payable at £60

Because this position involves the care of children and/or vulnerable adults, employment is dependent on

the following:
1. Provision of a Disclosure and Barring certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

2. Such disclosure being acceptable to us.

3. Proof of identity - birth or marriage certificate (where appropriate) and passport (if available).

4. Two satisfactory written references including one from your most recent employer (this is a Legal Requirement).

5. That you will supply a photograph of yourself for retention in your records (this is a Legal Requirement), when requested.

6. Evidence of physical or mental suitability for your work.

7. Documentary evidence of any qualifications relevant for the position (this is a Legal Requirement).

Schedule:

- 15 hour shift + sleep in duties
- Enhanced overtime rates and bank holidays
