To act as a Trainee Account Executive in the best interests of the company. This role will be responsible for supporting a book of new clients and renewal portfolio, assisting Account Executives and Account Directors in managing and providing a quality service, meeting client demands and needs in order to achieve optimum profitable renewal retention rate and growth.

**Your Role**:

- Assist Account Executives & Directors to manage client/prospect/introducer relationships and grow the book/existing accounts, providing the most appropriate insurance and risk management solutions
- Learn to negotiate with insurers to obtain terms for clients that accurately and effectively match customer requirements
- Manage own workload in order to effectively service the client relationship and ensure placements are completed within client deadlines
- Ensure client information and sales plans are kept up to date
- Assist in providing realistic plans and forecasts on customer performance.
- Learn how to establish and manage a sales pipeline of potential clients
- Analyse and interpret sales data to identify unexpected patterns and trends
- Build up a sales pipeline of business opportunities that will ensure sales targets are met
- Proactively seek out commercial opportunities and partnerships
- Work closely with Account Handlers and Brokers to negotiate terms and conditions of placements
- Deal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters
- Ensure that premiums are paid in accordance with credit control requirements
- Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.

**Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications**:

- Holding/working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualification: Dip CII/ FIT (Fitness Insurance Test) desirable
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry) products, services, classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity
- Demonstrated rapport-building experience with colleagues/clients
- Evidence of effectively prioritising risks to manage concurrent workflow
- Due diligence in administration
- Able to quickly grasp and interpret salient information
- Worked to deadlines and able to anticipate change
- Good client service focus
- Able to identify potential risks/issues and seek advice/consultation when required
- Due diligence and process driven to deadlines
- Risk aware in customer handling
- Proactive in customer-care
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning and analytical skills

- Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of ‘advised’ and ‘non-advised’ sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Ability to travel to client sites
