**Salary**:
**First year: £4.81 per hour, Second year (age dependent): 19 or under
- Remain on current salary. 19 and over - National Minimum Wage for your age.**

**37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**

**2-year fixed term contract**

You will need to assist in recording the inventory of components supported and perform general office administration duties as required.

The role will be supported by an external apprenticeship training company, who will deliver the training for the qualification.

**Responsibilities of our** **ICT Apprentice**:

- Assist all internal and external customers with their ICT issues using patience and understanding; pro-actively take responsibility and ownership for customer's problems.
- Log customer calls for ICT support, ensuring the call logging helpdesk facility is used effectively.
- Act as a liaison point between the clients, ICT colleagues and external partners to provide an efficient and effective customer-oriented service.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of the Group’s audio-visual equipment and by assisting clients in its use, ensuring at all times the needs of disabled students and staff are addressed.
- Assist in development of on-line content in knowledge base, providing comprehensive coverage of common issues/problems to assist in reducing the number of individual support calls to the ICT Helpdesk.
- Assist in the maintenance of the ICT inventory and ICT support training content. Assist with training of staff when required.
- Provide general office administration support.
- Liaises with other ICT staff and external partners to provide an efficient and effective customer-oriented service.
- Carries out all work with due regard to legal requirements of software license arrangements and agreed protocols for the use of the academic network.
- Actively comply and contribute to the College’s policies and procedures, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection.

**What we’re looking for in our** **ICT Apprentice**:

- GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English and Mathematics or willing to work towards
- Interest in IT technology or the IT industry.
- Evidence of self-motivation and ability and experience of working on own initiative
- Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
- Must be willing to learn new skills as our ICT needs evolve
