**Job Purpose**
To assist in the delivery service of food and drink from the Catering & Events department throughout the University Campus, ensuring that the service provision is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
It will be important that the postholder is organised and able to manage their time well while efficiently moving around the University. Strong customer service skills are required to liaise with a wide range of staff and students to ensure the prompt professional service to all clients.
You will be responsible for the delivery, set up and collection of the University's delivered catering on campus. As a member of the conference & events team you will also assist with the set up and breakdown of functions. As a full time role, this post has a working pattern of 37.5hrs across 5 days and there may be evening/weekend and public holiday working as and when trade dictates.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- To manage the packing, delivery, set up and collection of delivered catering around campus
- To maintain the set standards to ensure consistent, professional service
- To liaise with the catering inbox to ensure all orders are met
- Organising daily routes for the department and planning for the week ahead drop offs and pickups.
- Use sound judgement in dealing with customer queries/complaints and take appropriate action for amicable solution(s) to be found.
- Build effective relationships with team members to allow for a positive, professional environment.
- Communicate issues and improvements that can be made to service to refine and help make role more efficient.
- Liaising with the hospitality chef to ensure knowledge of dietary needs, and stock levels needing replenished.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and flexible working approach to meet the demands of the operation.
- Demonstrate a passion for customer service excellence and offer a personalised service that exceeds customer expectation.

A1 Full UK driving license.
A2 Previous experience in a catering/hospitality environment.
A3 Good presentation and professional yet personable and friendly.

**Desirable**:

B1 Food safety level 1 and 2.

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1 An ability to demonstrate the competencies to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role elsewhere.
E2 Health and safety awareness in a similar environment is essential.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary from £10.90 - £11.90 per hour (based on skills and experience).
Please note there are 2 posts available. Both roles are full time (37.5 hours per week) and permanent/open-ended but flexibility may be required by mutual agreement, and there may be some weekend and public holiday working at peak periods.
