Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child with SEMH at this welcoming primary school in Islington.

**Role**:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a specific student with SEMH, providing personalised support to meet their unique needs. You will play a vital role in helping the student thrive academically, emotionally, and socially within the school environment. This position is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the life and educational journey of a young learner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver tailored 1:1 support to the student with SEMH, following individualized education plans and strategies
- Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment for the student, encouraging their engagement and participation in class activities
- Implement behaviour management techniques and interventions to support the student's emotional well-being and social development
- Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals involved in the student's support team to ensure cohesive and consistent support
- Adapt and differentiate learning materials to meet the student's learning style and abilities
- Monitor and track the student's progress, providing feedback and regular updates to the class teacher and SENCO

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable
- A patient and empathetic nature, with the ability to build trust and rapport with the student
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring equal opportunities for all students
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or SEMH support would be advantageous but not essential
