The SEN Classroom Assistant:
To be eligible for this SEN Classroom Assistant position, you must hold a Level 3 SEN Classroom Assistant qualification. You must have experience working with high needs SEN, primarily Autism and learning difficulties. For this SEN Classroom Assistant role, you must have experience working in a similar setting and have a good knowledge of the national curriculum.
The SEN Classroom Assistant Role:
As an SEN Classroom Assistant, you will be working with high needs SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will work with teaching staff to differentiate work to suitably challenge the pupils you are working with. It is important that you can manage challenging behaviour effectively and implement intervention strategies that support positive behaviour and engagement with education. As an SEN Classroom Assistant, you will provide specialist 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, both in the classroom and around the school.
