Retail Supervisor

Today the site welcomes thousands of visitors a year to be enchanted by Belsay's Grecian architecture, medieval castle, and thirty acres of outstanding gardens which include the unique micro-climate of the Quarry Garden with exotic plants. There is a shop, a caf and the site also host an event programme.

In late August the Belsay Awakes project is due to launch, which will include the opening of a new Wild Man themed play area and a second caf.

You will be responsible for managing the retail business through a team of visitor assistant staff to deliver c. £200,000 retail income.

Working along side the site supervisor you will manage a team of Visitor Assistants, recruiting and training your team to drive performance across retail, including service standards and sales. You will assist with the daily running of the site and focus on the day-to-day delivery of retail targets and the management of relevant retail expenditure budgets.

The shop at Belsay has recently undergone a refurbishment and a key part of this role will be closely monitoring sales and working with the wider English Heritage retail team to ensure that it is operating as best as it can.
