We have a permanent senior vacancy in the GLA’s Housing & Land directorate. This is an opportunity to work on a key Mayoral priority and become a key member of our senior management team, working closely with senior stakeholders across the housing and regeneration sector in London. You will play a leading role in the delivery of the Mayor’s Housing Strategy and his vision that all Londoners should have safe, affordable and decent homes.

This role leads the programmes to achieve the Mayor’s commitments on building safety, including the Social Sector Cladding Remediation Fund, the Private Sector Cladding Remediation Fund and the Building Safety Fund. It leads a unit of 60 staff and has responsibility for budgets of £5 million revenue and £400m capital a year.

We’re looking for an exceptional inclusive leader who can manage and motivate a team to deliver our high-profile work programmes in line with the Mayor’s expectations. We are looking for people with senior experience of leading complex and large-scale programmes, ideally with expertise in housing, property, infrastructure, regeneration or a similar field.

You will also need the ability to operate and provide effective advice to senior officers and the Mayor and his team in a complex political environment. Resilience and adaptability will be key, within a supportive structure. This role involves effective working with relevant government teams and oversight of significant revenue and capital budgets to achieve the Mayor’s objectives.

This role is based at **City Hall**, in the **Royal Docks** (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE) and London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL).

Staff at the GLA are working in our offices 2-3 days per week and GLA leaders need to be accessible and visible to their teams. A good balance of time spent working remotely, in the office together with colleagues and with partners across London is an important aspect of the role. We promote flexible approaches to working and try to ensure an inclusive and supportive environment that enables our staff to be successful. This may include reasonable adjustments or other flexibilities around working hours and locations.
